Video tutorial: Write your first Trigger from start to finish! (Part 1 of 2)

November 9, 2013

I’m very happy to announce that all Sfdc99 tutorials will now be accompanied by a video version!

This video is for Chapter 1: How to Write Your First Trigger from Start to Finish!

I chose this trigger because it’s simple and can only be done using code – no workflows can do this (even after the Winter ’14 patch that allows workflows on the User object)!

I promise that it’s easier than you think to get started coding in Salesforce!

  • I am no genius and I went to an average college (nothing but love, UC Davis!)
  • My major was marketing, and I didn’t know how to write a single line of code
  • I started learning how to code on the side, while working full-time in marketing
  • In six months you can learn enough code to get a full-time job as a Salesforce developer!
  • Check out this post: How to learn Apex quickly

Next video: How to write a test class and deploy our trigger!
