Are you dying to compensate me for all the sweat, blood, and tears I pour into this site? =)
Every so often I’ll get a message from a reader telling me they’d love to donate money to me as a thank you gift. And if you’ve been reading this site long enough, you’ll know that I never really had plans to make money off this site. I lose money keeping this site up, but it’s not a huge amount.
There’s a very specific reason why I don’t want to make money off SFDC99:
I don’t want my message to you to be diluted by the lure of money. I sincerely believe that anyone can code. I also believe that hard work trumps talent. Most importantly, I believe in inspiring you to achieve your dreams. If I made money doing this, you might question my motivations for believing so.
So what’s the best way to pay me back for these tutorials?
With your permission, I’ll post your story on SFDC99, and together, we’ll help inspire the next generation of Salesforce developers!
David
I eagerly look forward to paying you back the way you have asked, and more (somehow, someway). Working on it!
You are one good man. Thank you!
Amazing dedication!
Hi David,
I am dreaming to become a developer and I am trying hard by reading, doing the work and your side and following your advise. But I have difficulties to understand many codes. I am disappointed sometimes. Well, I always read the inspirational story to get back the motivation.
I see many job offers of Salesforce in France but I have no confident to apply one ( I’ve got many failures in the pass).
I still have hope that one day I will get job in Salesforce but the way to go seems to be longer for me.
Thank you again for your great site.
There is no shame in trying and failing, but there is much shame in not trying!
Try to live your life in such a way that you won’t look back one day and have regrets! I was rejected by Google ten times before finally getting a job offer.
Go out and do it Visal!!!
Hey buddy!
Well, Im one of those who thought at one time “I wish Dave would put a ‘Donate’ button via PayPal, cause hes really putting so much time and effort into this!. Not to corrupt your intention, but just to help out!
But yes. If we can make it to at least a beginner developer, that would make you proud!
I have a job interview today! A company that uses SF as their Front End (Visual Force) and SF objects as their Back End for a financial services / trading company :) it would be hard core Admin work at first, but they are willing to train a future DEV!
I will definitely go the extra mile, read “Head First Java” (I have it printed from its PDF format) and do some coding practice via your examples.
I will keep you posted!
Stay strong Dave! Your an inspiration to us all :)
Jose,
I am so proud of you because the last time we talked you were totally lost on what you wanted to do with your career!
But I am so happy to hear now that you have an interview and you’re taking steps towards your dreams!!
Hope the interview went well today, best of luck!!
David
