Just ordered SFDC99’s second batch of t-shirts!
No two batches will have the same design and color, so #DF14 is the only time to get these!
Here’s how you can get your hands on one of these limited edition puppies:
- I’ll be giving out shirts during all of my Dreamforce sessions!
- Bring me a free t-shirt! Either from your company or one from the expo (size M or larger)!
- Find me in person at Dreamforce and tell me the secret phrase: “Anyone can code!”
- Not going to Dreamforce? Tell me your story about how coding changed your life!
…only while supplies last!

Hi David,
Here’s my story. I was in non-IT field for 4 years before it struck me that technology is my passion and that’s where I should work for the remaining years of my career. And, thus began my journey into career switch. I was researching my options, given a non-computer science background and lack of a comp science degree. I stumbled upon sfdc few months ago. Few friends recommended it to me and I started reading through the admin handbook and practicing on the developer version by myself. Meanwhile, I had a baby, soon after which there was a family emergency. I struggled really hard as a first time mom and having to care for an infant and support other family members through this emergency for 5 months.
Spending an hour a day on the sfdc platform (practicing, exploring through the features, workflow rules, validation rules, handbook, etc) helped me hold on to my passion during those months. It gave me hope that I can have a fulfilling career and do what I love on a daily basis. Also helped me re-identify myself and kept me inspired through out those months. Ofcourse football (Go Niners :)) helped too. I passed the 401 certification in my first shot last month and it was just the boost I needed. Last month, I came across your website during my search for a good apex tutorial online. It has been a wonderful learning experience, and I can’t thank you enough for creating this site! My learning took off exponentially, and I’m taking the 201 and 501 in the next few days.
Thank you and hope to catch you at the #DF14.

Hi David,
Here goes my Story. I am not that good in English so you may find many grammatical mistakes. Forgive me for that.
I am from India & I completed my graduation in 2011 in CSE background. I did not got through any of the campus interviews conducted in my college. After 6 Months of struggle I landed into a job as a fresher. So being a fresher I did not have any chance to choose the technology for my career. So I landed into networks team. It went well initially but during the time I fed up with work and my job as it became routine work nothing much interesting. So I was looking for a change in technology. One of my friend Suggested me SFDC has bright future and I can go for it. My main goal is to become developer and write codes in any one of technologies. So I followed my friend’s suggestion.
So I choose one institute where I can learn SFDC by paying money. I used to get up early and travel to coaching center listen for 2 hours and then travel back to office directly from there. It’s my routine for next 3 months. I never skipped a class irrespective of what the situation may be. And my friend used to guide me daily on the topics covered at coaching center. First 2 months only Admin part was covered completely and I have learnt almost each and every topic of it. But here is the twist when the development part started. Since I have knowledge on coding part it was like I did not grasped anything in next 1 month even though I go regularly to coaching center. So this is when my Friend suggested me about your site from where I started learning the triggers and writing queries. After going through all the chapters from your site I was bit a confident and also attended the interview recently. And biggest part of it is I cleared it.
Thanks for posting inspirational stories and motivating your readers to take up challenges and solve them.
Oh my gosh Sunil this is an incredible story!!!!
I’M GOING TO MAIL YOU A T-SHIRT!!!!
I have your email and will be contacting you through there =)
I’m still blown away!!
THANK YOU!!
David
Hi David, I’m super charged up after reading your entire story. I bumped into your site a week ago at a time when I was in desperate need for guidance! I got my dev401 cert (3 weeks ago) after falling in love with the sf platform. My goal is to become a Guru of sf admin and dev side and of course find a job that pays nicely. Can you help me achieve these goals?
BTW, where can I find you / your sessions during #DF14? This is my first time there, so any tips?
Regards
Congrats on the cert! Of course, I got your back!
These are my sessions and I’m adding one more!

Biggest tip: register and arrive at sessions early, they fill up QUICKLY. Even if you’re a walk-in, you can still get in if you go early enough. They only register 50% of the seats.
I live in Egypt and I’m telling you the secret phrase… “ANYONE can code”… So? :( :( Any way for me to get one of these t-shirts?!! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease!! :'(
ha ha ha send me an inspirational story, and if it makes the site, I’ll mail a shirt to you in Egypt!
