David’s note: I haven’t cried in years, but I cried when I read your story. I’m very proud of you and I too hope to meet you one day at Dreamforce!
Dear David,
I want to say thank you and how I got job. If it helps to others publish it because I was motivated by success stories. I will start giving back to the community once I set well in Salesforce. Plz don’t show my name but just keep in your heart we’ll meet soon.
Once I had a chat with you in your last live coding class. Hope you remember I told you David soon you will get a success story. It took some time but that day came man it has happened because of you from zero to Senior software developer.
I’ve seen a lot of high and lows in my career but my life stopped at one stage. No money, hungry, and everyone started moving away from me. One day my friend told me about SALESFORCE. I started Google first thing I seen is SFDC99. I am with SFDC99 for one month, I went though each and every page for n number of times on my laptop browser and mobile.
David made SALESFORCE an addiction to me. I left home, no friends, no parties, no phone calls. I went to classroom classes, Salesforce webiners in YouTube, Trailheads, all from scratch to high level. How to create objects to how to write 400 lines of triggers.
Where there is a will there is a way. My will foundation is strong because of SFDC99 success stories and your saying ANYONE CAN CODE. While I am reading success stories I decided that day I have to write one. It took 8 months seriously no words, now I have three offers in hand from top mnc’s, this is Salesforce.
Guys never give up but think out of box, change your resume presentation think like you’re marketing your skills, do certifications. Coding is very easy it has happened with me why not with you. I didn’t even know a single line of code. Come on make your will strong there is life in Salesforce.
Thanks to my parents, my wife (who made me to do something), my friends, my David.

@David Rocks .. .. I would love to be part of SFDC and part of SFDC99 success stories,
recently I have started practicing SFDC code and looking for a good job as a Salesforce Developer ..
and I will make it ..
David I have been part of Siebel CRM at Oracle. During that time I started loving Salesforce. After that I started my MS in Computer Science at University of Florida. Now, I am dreaming to be a Saleforce Developer and then I want to be a saleforce Architect like you. CRM is in my heart Recently, I Started my journey with Salesforce Trailhead. Graduating in May 2016 and dream to be a Saleforce Developer.
Cheering for you Rohit! Good luck!
Excellent and inspiring. Specially since SF will double its employees base in 2020. I myself gave up on looking for “jobs” anywhere else but at SF
Seriously this just made me cry!!! I will be one of your success stories, too. And I can’t wait until the day when I get to tell you what your hard work as done for me…for now I’ll say thank you thank you thank you for pouring so much of yourself and your life into this work so the rest of us could benefit as well. It means the world to have!!
It is my honor Emily – I hope one day you pass on the love!
“My David” certainly filled eyes too.
My wife laughed at me!!
Wow! Its so exciting to read success stories from people who put in the effort and made it!
God bless you in this journey with SFDC!
If this is not motivating, I don’t know what is! I’m currently doing Trailhead, Pluralsight, Youtube tutorials and best practices. And I know that by the end of 2016 I will be Salesforce Certified Developer. One year for life-changing decision is nothing, absolutely nothing!
What a smart way to think! One year of work for a lifetime of change – you have lots of potential Nikola!
“My David” gives goosebumps to me . That’s true feeling from the bottom of the heart. Salesforce became passion n biggest addiction to me just because of SFDC99. I’m just beginning my coding journey. These words inspired me lot . March ending is my goal to become a nice developer. Definitely will come back with my story. David ,wish me good luck . Your wish boosts my spirit to achieve my goal.
Good luck Satya and I wish you much success! Crossing my fingers that you have a success story one day!
