Next course: Admin Certification Study Guide (ADM 201)!

September 6, 2016

This is something I’ve always wanted to do!! YES!!!

Help me make a great admin certification course for the world!
Post your favorite ADM201 certification resources in the comments!

Secretly, I’ve always wanted to teach admin principles – this is something I strongly believe too many developers overlook! This prevents good developers from becoming great!

This course will do two things:

  1. Teach you the fundamentals of Salesforce, starting from zero
  2. Prepare you for the official Salesforce Administrator Certification exam (ADM 201)

And yes, if you are brand new to Salesforce this is exactly the course you need!

Don’t worry, we’ll continue to offer scholarships to those in need (email sfdc99.mailbag@gmail.com). Plus, stay tuned for a massive free t-shirt announcement!

Cheers!
David

I used http://www.certifiedonthemand.com and salesforce.study, highly recommend.
Now I am looking for a good source for the Advanced Admin Certification.

Indeed CertifiedOnDemand is excellent! I would also highly recommend the “Who sees What” series, as it forms the foundation of many exam questions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDYfTfaqclk&list=PL6747B4DAE356E17C

Hey David, the new admins i’ve been trying to help, I recommend 2 resources:

http://www.bulkified.com
I like Bulkified because it went into deep detail on certain things I didnt know prior, such as how many components you can have on a dashboard in classic, and other little things like that. May not be on the exam, but it surely helpful.

http://www.certifiedondemand.com
GREAT resource for new admins (and ones that have been around a while as well for some refreshers). I failed my exam the first time and was recommended to come here and pay the $40 for the lifetime membership. WELL worth it. I read through EVERYTHING on there until I quite literally memorized the entire practice exam, and knew each question inside and out, and knew why the answers were right, partially right, and wrong.

And last, but not least, Trailhead. Trailhead, trailhead.

See you at DF!

Trailhead. Trailhead, trailhead, indeed! And I like the sound of certifiedondemand – I’m definitely going to look into that. Thanks for the resource!

Are there any Pages like this regarding Marketing Cloud? There are almost no ressources out there.

All of these are great resources, but if you all can I do recommend the Salesforce Certified Study Group available in the Salesforce community, It’s an intense 16 week long course that requires time and homework but so worth. It’s more comprehensive than the Salesforce U trainings. Trust me I took one of the Salesforce U classes. It’s great but too little time to get it all down, and it’s all Free!

I like the sound of that – and I love free! I think I remember reading something about this months ago, but had completely forgotten about it. Thanks for putting it back on my radar.

My favorite ADM201 resource is focusonforce.com! Mock exams have great explanations and the study guide provides a great visual representation of the actual material in an org. It is hard to pass this exam without hands on experience due to the complex nature of questions, Trailhead and developer org are a must for those who have never used Salesforce before.

Yes. Mike is highly knowledgeable and his course is helpful for a hands-on approach. He maintains a steady pace for an effective assimilation.
