Thanks for the update David! My goal for this year is to get my Advanced Admin and Platform Developer I certs (considering App Builder as well). I earned the Admin cert in 2015 and have been working through your Apex Academy course. Do you have any recommendation about the order in which I should take these exams? Does it matter? Thanks for your thoughts!

    Hey Norm!

I would do App Builder before Platform Dev I and II. Reason is I prefer doing the easier certs before the more difficult ones, just so you can pad the stats. LOL!

So: admin >> adv admin >> app builder >> sales cloud (optional) >> platform dev I and II >> service cloud (optional)

I consider these the core certs, you are welcome to fill in any slot with the “other” ones like marketing cloud =)

    Good luck!

Thank you David, that sounds great and the direction I’ll head in. I’m thinking I’ll do adv admin in June, App Builder in September and Platform Dev 1 in Nov or Dec. Thank you again for the feedback!

THANKS!! I’m getting ready to sign up to take my exam and this is helpful! I heard there will be a new exam and I’m assuming this material will help guide up through the new exam format!

Hey David. Got your email this morning about the updates, thanks! Heads up on one thing: you still have the Dev Cert (which you can no longer take) on the “Guide to Passing all Salesforce Certifications” listed and no mention of it’s replacement, the App Builder cert.

Appreciate all you do to look out for us.
