How to learn Salesforce and make $150,000 per year

September 16, 2018

Something special is happening!

In our lifetimes, some of us will be lucky enough to stumble on one, maybe two great opportunities. Opportunities that give us the power to support our families, not worry about having a job, and also, the privilege to work on compelling things.

If you’re reading this post and you’re not yet in the Salesforce industry, this is your great opportunity.

I spoke about this phenomenon during Pluralsight LIVE. Here are the slides and key points:

How to learn Salesforce and make $150,000 per year

View the full presentation slides

UPDATE: the full recording is now available! (Pluralsight subscription required!)

Key points:

  • Anyone can learn Salesforce, no matter what their background is
  • Salesforce skills are in high demand and there is a short supply of professionals
  • Unlike other high demand industries like programming or AI, Salesforce is relatively unknown
  • An unusually high percentage of jobs are remote, letting you earn great salaries from anywhere
  • People from all backgrounds have found success in this industry

My recommend learning path can be found in the final slides at the end.

I hope you find success and I wish you the best in your life journey!
David

Thanks again for all the great advice! I’m following your certification path and it’s totally working!

Thanks to you I’ve passed ADM 201 and am working on ADM 211 and Platform App Builder. I got the 50% off exams for Certifications Days so I’m pushing those next.

I was thinking after that I’d tackle Platform Developer and your “Apex in 14 Weeks” course after the above.

Thoughts? Other suggested paths?

I would like to know if people are able to grab remote opportunities, within US and even better still, across country borderlines.

There are some portals for opprotunities like guru.com

There is an excellent attempt in this direction by crossover.com but i have had skeptical views about how much work is really allocated. Their ideal philosophy is really good, filtering questions are excellent and mechanism of recruitment includes apptitude test and even creating videos for audio video samples (for manager level at lest)

Any such actual inputs and facts will be really good.
