The Salesforce job market is as competitive as ever. With over 30 different certifications available (costing up to $400 each), you’ve gotta be smart about where you spend your time and money.
In this video I rank each Salesforce certification and explain what its value is in the job market, if any.

I think it was google that most big salesforce jobs just require experience and nothing else or skills in someone what are you thoughts don’t you think it’s cool. Also looking forward to your next video when is your next video, can you dive into your next video about salesforce career trends and where you see trailhead going in the future. Or dive into the benefits trailhead university more and certs path superbadges ranger etc.
So ranger is still significant then to have but 200 badges is the new goal I should hit???
David hope your well and thriving, please make more videos like this can’t think of anything better then this your a master mind seriously, you put all the thought and effort into every video and it shows for real. I was wondering should I stop focus on badges and ranger and just do a super badge or certification and keep going with those. I am feeling stuck may you please help also I did not see where the no bs resume is. Is 200 badges better then one. One more question I am reading the more certs you have and super badges they more desirable you look is there truth to that. Thanks so much greatly appreciative you and everything you stand for!!!
I’ve loved the last two videos. You even got me to subscribe to a youtube channel which I’ve literally never done :P
I failed my admin 201 earlier this week, and I’m getting ready for revenge. I’ve worked hard at understanding over just trying to memorize everything. I feel like I can explain so much now, every day I’m a little better and it will make a solid foundation to build on. I’ve been following your Trailmix and its great, thanks for that resource btw. I’ve broken my goals into milestones and really gotten into the mindset that this doesn’t need to be treated like a sprint. I guess with how strange things have been this entire year I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being such an awesome human.
I’m glad how unapologetically honest you are about the admin cert. It is true tho, too many ppl have them now that it has become less of a value that it once was. I am working towards the PD1 cert and really interested to subscribe to your pluralsight course. Do you have a discount code for that? :) thanks alot!
What super badges, or badges or skills obtained from the badges do you find most impressive on a resume, I’m up to 50 badges now, also do you have to get 100,000 points and 100 badges to become a salesforce ranger or is just one of those things do you know???
I think it’s better to focus on what role you want your career to be in rather than what company (Salesforce/Google). So, first decision is to figure out if you want to be in sales or if you want to be a Salesforce admin/dev/architect!
Thank you very much, I want to start out as a sales rep I do meet the requirements though should I apply, I now almost have 50 badges, do you have to get 100,000 points to reach ranger and 100 badges or how dose that work???
Are there any resources out there that will fill in the gaps that you know of? I know some basic Javascript stuff, but no Dev background. I was hoping to complete Platform Dev 1 and 2 within 6 months or so.
Could it increase my chances of getting a job at salesforce or google with the technical architect certifications, what would be you recommendations if I’m going the experience route????
I say focus on finding your first job first then work towards Google! I was rejected by Google 10 times and this is not abnormal. You have to keep improving yourself along the way then break in!
I think you might have a risk of spreading yourself too thin. If you try to focus on too many things at once it will degrade the quality of each. Keep it simple and focus just on Salesforce stuff IMO!
Well done, impressive video again so if I’m going just the experience route I should focus on my certifications, And building orgs in trailhead, personal projects, and super badges. I am working on the salesforce admin super badge are super badges still worth or it, or badges or ranger status thanks you very much very appreciative of you!!!!
Can I make a resume still for salesforce for like a starting business rep how would I write a solid salesforce business rep position what would I put on my resume???

Hi David,
I’ve loved the last two videos. You even got me to subscribe to a youtube channel which I’ve literally never done :P

Thank you Patrick means a lot. =). I will think about your comment tonight as I choose to either eat ice cream or make another video!

Very nice David. Now I’m enrolling too!

I don’t put too much stock into badges other than to gauge enthusiasm. 100+ is good but 200+ is better
So if I have most of the skills for a salesforce business development rep would you encourage me to apply, hope your well???

To be a sales rep you don’t need any badges or certs!
The coupon code for focus on force is not working. SFDC2020
Up to 2 items per person I believe
A business development rep what should I put on my resume, should I also say trailhead and salesforce certifications work In progress on my resume???
For a salesforce business rep starting at salesforce what would you recommend me putting on my resume???
Hey David,
Does Apex Academy prepare you for Platform Dev II or is it just the basics?
Really just the basics! It’ll take you from 0 to 1 and PD2 is like a 5
Are there any resources out there that will fill in the gaps that you know of? I know some basic Javascript stuff, but no Dev background. I was hoping to complete Platform Dev 1 and 2 within 6 months or so.
Do you know of a good way to fill in the gaps? Any resources to learn more advanced concepts to prep you for PDII?
Best thing to do from there is just build stuff!
Is ranger status or the skills attained from badges still worth it???
Yup!!
Also is google cloud architect certification worth it or project mangle this certification to you???
Not familiar with that cert, I don’t think it has value in the Salesforce world
If I’m going just the experience what do you recommend???
I think you might have a risk of spreading yourself too thin. If you try to focus on too many things at once it will degrade the quality of each. Keep it simple and focus just on Salesforce stuff IMO!
Are super badges still worth it because it shows real world skills, or badges???
Yup def get em!
=)
yes to all of those things???
Yes to all the above! And keep applying to jobs in the meantime!
Can I make a resume still for salesforce for like a starting business rep how would I write a solid salesforce business rep position what would I put on my resume???
