…and how I overcame them:
Hope you enjoy this honest look at the biggest demons of my past.
Great content as always David! Thank you for putting this content out regularly. I’m taking your Apex Academy course on Plural Sight now, looking to get my PD1 soon with some of that knowledge. Tackling designer certs after that! Your story about reframing the failure with the volleyball serve as an opportunity is priceless – I’ve encountered similar situations in my own career, and mixing up your content and not just focusing on Certs/SF knowledge holds great value in anyone to build their whole self up, become a great person and earn a great career! Keep the videos coming!
Thank you Michael!!
Is admin certification a good starting place, if I want to be a solution engineer???
For salesforce specific roles, are super badges rangers status important and the technical salesforce architect cert, in the world of salesforce are those still valuable???
Yea I imagine at Salesforce they care about certs. But some positions more than others
What do you mean by some more then others hahaa, oh you you mean like the architects are probably the most valuable because they are the hardest in the world???
What do you mean by this please explain more???
If I have leadership skills a tone of them or volunteer experience a tone of that can I try to apply for google job???
Please emphasize on this more what do you mean???
So sorry if I sound repetitive just trying to gain some clarity, what’s certifications, super badges be important if I’m applying to a job at salesforce. Salesforce places a lot of empathize of how super badges act as like real world experience to them so I as just wondering if they are still worth willed or not. Or if ranger is good
To have on your resume or not still???
Every good company is different in how they hire. I make a different resume for each company I apply to, for example. And in companies like Google you gotta get through like 10+ people to get the job. Even if one person likes you, all 9+ need to like you too. It’s really difficult. Really the best way to prepare is to consistently be the best at whatever you are doing.
If i leadership skills, or a tone of volunteer experience could I try applying???
Should I just focus on salesforce certifications still then, I see a lot of solution engineer jobs at salesforce that salesforce certs strongly
Preferred on the job posting. I thought you said you would hire someone with a salesforce technical architect certification cause it’s one of the hardest in the whole word???
What about getting the technical architect for a salesforce role???
Is 300 trail badges and ranger status still important to put on my resume, also in the world of salesforce are salesforce super badges important cause there like real time full fledged projects, hope your well your help means a great ordeal to me David!!!!
It’s important at most companies but not as much at Google. You gotta be able to prove you’re top 1% in the world basically. Even 10,000,000 badges won’t do that for you!
Is it important if I’m applying for a salesforce specific role???
How do I prepare myself then for a google interview???
Got a video on my YouTube channel on that!
Would you hire someone if they had the google professional cloud architect certification, or salesforce technical architect certification???
Certifications don’t matter at Google!
It’s more about the skills you said someone posses???
Yup, gotta pass the hardest interview in the world
How do you prepare for that any suggestion, do I have Chance if I match the skills exactly to the job posting???
You would know but I heard the google cloud architect professional certifications is like one of the hardest in the world like the salesforce architect technical is, didn’t you say in your video you would hire someone if they had the salesforce technical architect no doubts no questions asked because it’s one of the hardest in the world and there are so few architects????
I strongly believe in the world of salesforce certifications matter for jobs at salesforce, but that’s very interesting to know thank you very much again, have you ever hired someone with just experience and passion???
Yup, happens all the time. Sometimes it’s just general intelligence and attitude, not even experience.
You seriously inspire me thank you so very much!!!
Anyone get hired just off experience way or the skills they possessed???
It’s 100% about skills at Google. =)
Are the program and application architect impressive to have on your resume as well as the technical architect???
If I want a solution engineer salesforce job, how can I gain experience???
Not too familiar with that path sorry man!! But I’d guess certs are very important for it!
Thank you very much, is the application and program architect certifications hard do you know and is there only really only 300 technical architects for salesforce in the whole world???
Yessir I have both those certs and have failed the Technical Architect review board lol. The other certs are probably only 5% as hard as the review board.
Only 300 technical architects for salesforce in the world that’s nuts, never dream to big what may I ask which architect certs you have. Also for a google salesforce job may I ask what questions they ask???
My certs are in my LinkedIn profile, I’ve got 18 of them. All the good ones except technical architect. Can’t share Google questions I’ll get fired lol
Are you a google recruiter as well, the technical architect is impressive as well as all the other architect certifications???
Yup! I interview and help hire for Google
Nice, is the architect certification technical architect impressive to you. Also am I allowed to ask what google looks for or no???
Just depends on the position. Google doesn’t put much stock in certifications. Many of my coworkers have zero certs.
