But I can’t help but wonder, in 2022, if Salesforce, the community, and the world has changed so much that Dreamforce is no longer the must attend event it once was. Let’s talk about it.
In this video I’ll break down all the ways Dreamforce has changed over the years, for better or for worse, and ultimately make a recommendation as to whether or not you should spend your hard earned money to attend.
This one’s a dangerous video folks, especially on the eve of Dreamforce 2022. Buckle in!
David

Hey David Liu,
Glad to have you back, always enjoy your content.
Quick question: Is it worth paying additional money for an add-on cloud (Financial Services Cloud, Health Cloud, etc) or just paying the additional money up front for some custom built applications?
My first choice is generally going the Salesforce first party route. They have a good track record of building strongly connected ecosystems which may future proof your decision. Good luck!
First party Salesforce products majority of the time always work well and these have been around for years. Sure the cost up front of building it out custom can be cheaper up front, but give it a few years and I’d be willing to bet the cost to benefit ratio isn’t fully there.
Click not code go hand in hand with standard object over custom objects whenever possible. Only use it when there’s no other option.
Love SFDC99 but I’ve gotta be honest. I prefer reading text on the blog rather than just posting a video. Sometimes its just nice to read the thoughts you’ve got on my own pace without having to just watch something.
Thanks Patrick! I know the feeling. There are pros and cons to both mediums. I have this feeling that blogs are a dying format as the world moves towards things like TikTok. Should be an interesting next few years!
Totally fair and I can understand that I’m a little more old school with how I consume media. I fit into the later age groups of who’d enjoy Tik Tok but it’s just not my jam. I personally enjoy reading blogs and longer YouTube videos about a topic rather than a super short media type.
It’s absolutely a changing world of media consumption everyone is having and I know you’ve got to keep up with the trends! I appreciate you replying and for the feedback!
You know what I’ll do next time is give a deeper summary in the post here, and let people decide if they want the full details in the video. This is something I’ll just do for SFDC99 for now. Thanks Patrick!

Couldn’t agree more with what David said.
